little ideas: DIY event props

After religiously browsing the blogs this week (per the usual) we found some amazing DIY stuff to spruce up any party or wedding! The first one is a brilliant photo booth prop from the talented bloggers over at Hostess with the Mostess. It looks so simple and can liven up any party!

How cute does the prop make these adorable photos! Click here for more details about how you can bring one of these hearts to your next event.

Our next blog DIY find of the week is this light up letter from Design Sponge that would be perfect for a wedding. The lucky bride and groom can showcase their initials in a unique and exciting way (that is also very cost effective)!

Guest Blogger: Spring Fashion Inspiration

Attention ladies, spring has arrived! And while the late Marilyn may have driven home that, “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend” this spring no woman’s entourage is complete without an espadrille inspired heel! This of the moment “must-have” juxtaposes two essentials for spring and no man is doing this style more justice than Sam Edelman.

A quick glimpse at his spring 2011 collection, which takes several classic fixtures (the timeless flat, espadrille, wedge, and sandal) in any woman’s shoe wardrobe and reinvents their core elements into a chic, modern look and it is not wonder why this man is the show designer to watch!

Although his entire collection should be purchased in its entirety, the styles that are especially eye-catching and double-take inducing are:

The Novato – This classic slingback receives an updated take with its sky-high platform and teardrop peep toe. With three styles to choose from (guilty: I have two of the three) in beige canvas, faded blue denim, and classic cork. Each color is the perfect accent to the pastels, eyelets, and shift dresses of the season.

All of these styles can be purchased online at Sam Edelman
